Teen Therapy & Family Counselling

The teenage years can be some of the most turbulent — for young people and for the families who love them. When a teenager is struggling, the ripple effects are felt by the whole family. At Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling, we work with teenagers and their families together, recognising that lasting change happens within the context of healthy family relationships.

Our approach is warm, non-judgmental, and deeply respectful of both the young person's voice and the family's concerns.

How We Work

We believe that teenagers do best in therapy when their families are involved in a meaningful way. Rather than seeing the young person in isolation, we work with the family as a system — helping parents understand what their teenager is experiencing, and helping the teenager feel genuinely heard by the people they love most.

Sessions may involve the teenager individually, the full family together, or a combination of both, depending on what is most helpful at each stage of the process.

For Expat Families in Singapore

Growing up as a Third Culture Kid — moving between countries, switching schools, navigating multiple cultural identities — brings unique challenges. Many of the teenagers we work with in Singapore are navigating exactly this experience. Our therapists have lived internationally themselves and bring genuine understanding of what it means to grow up between worlds.
