Anxiety Therapy in Singapore

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek therapy — and one of the most treatable. Whether you experience persistent worry that never seems to switch off, panic attacks that come out of nowhere, a deep fear of social situations, or a general sense that something is wrong even when life looks fine from the outside, therapy can help you understand your anxiety and take back control.

At Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling, we offer evidence-based anxiety therapy for adults in Singapore and online, delivered by experienced, registered therapists.

What Anxiety Feels Like

Anxiety shows up differently for different people. You might recognise:
- Constant worrying or a racing mind that won't quiet down
- Physical symptoms — a tight chest, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, sweating
- Panic attacks — sudden intense waves of fear or dread
- Avoiding situations, places or people because of fear
- Difficulty sleeping due to anxious thoughts
- Irritability, restlessness or a sense of being on edge
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Fear of embarrassment or judgment in social situations
- Health anxiety — constant worry about your physical wellbeing

If any of these feel familiar, you are not alone — and you do not have to keep managing them alone.

How We Treat Anxiety

Our therapists use a range of evidence-based approaches to treat anxiety, including:

**Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)** — CBT is the most well-researched treatment for anxiety. It helps you identify the thought patterns that fuel your anxiety and develop more balanced, realistic ways of thinking and responding.

**EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)** — Particularly effective where anxiety is linked to past trauma or distressing experiences.

**Mindfulness-Based Approaches** — Developing a different relationship with anxious thoughts so they have less power over your behaviour.

**Psychodynamic Therapy** — Exploring the deeper roots of anxiety, including early experiences and unconscious patterns.

We take an integrative approach, which means your treatment is tailored to you — combining the methods most likely to help based on your specific experience of anxiety.

Anxiety in Singapore's High-Pressure Environment

Singapore's demanding work culture, high academic expectations, and fast pace of life create a particular kind of anxiety pressure. We work with many clients — professionals, executives, students, and parents — who are performing well on the outside while struggling significantly on the inside. If this resonates with you, you are in the right place.
